Cal Cunningham hasn’t said much since he announced his run for Senate earlier this year (according to his fellow Democrats, he’s been hiding in Chuck Schumer’s #WindowlessBasement). But one position he claims to have taken has been clear: no special interests funding his campaign. Last night on WRAL, Politifact rated that claim “Mostly False.”
“Cal Cunningham is hiding from voters and afraid to take positions on anything relevant to his Party or politics today,” said NRSC spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Now, it turns out the one position he has consistently taken is ‘misleading’ and ‘mostly false.’ It’s no wonder Erica Smith is currently ahead of him in the Democratic primary.”
