Heidi Heitkamp released a new ad today trying to paint herself as pro-life, which is absolutely ridiculous considering she’s repeatedly doubled down on her pro-abortion record.
The Atlantic reported that during her first Senate campaign in 2012, Heitkamp argued that late-term abortion should be illegal “except when necessary to save the life of the mother.” Yet in 2015, she voted to filibuster a bill that would ban abortions after the fifth month of pregnancy and voted to oppose anti-abortion legislation again and again.
Heitkamp even went as far as to high five New York liberal Chuck Schumer on the Senate floor after voting against blocking late-term abortions earlier this year.
Heitkamp’s radical record stands in sharp contrast to Congressman Kevin Cramer, a champion for life with a career-long record of fighting for the unborn.
