Feingold’s Four-Day Flip Flop

On Wednesday, Senator Feingold praised the lone wolf terrorist provision he repeatedly voted against during his eighteen years in Washington for "making sure our people of our country are safe":

"The lone wolf provisions – and all of these provisions, have to do with making sure our people of our country are safe."

Yet, four days later, Senator Feingold then went on to bash the lone wolf terrorist provision he repeatedly voted against during his eighteen years in Washington as "bogus" on WKOW‘s "Capitol City Sunday":

"This lone wolf provision, you know what? It’s never even been used in a terrorist investigation according to all of the reports I’ve seen. So this is a bogus claim."

What could have possibly changed in 96 hours for Senator Feingold to take such blatantly contradictory positions?

Either Senator Feingold misspoke on Wednesday – and he therefore regrets his votes against "making sure our people of our country are safe," or Senator Feingold misspoke on Sunday – and he therefore stands by his votes against "making sure our people of our country are safe."

Anti-terror measures such as the ones Senator Feingold opposed are too important to depend on what day of the week it is.
