Washington, D.C. – Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman takes pride in trying to establish purity tests, like taking the ‘No Fossil Fuel’ pledge and, more recently, banning members of Congress from holding stocks to prevent conflicts of interest. But Senate hopeful Fetterman can’t even pass his own test. According to the Free Beacon:

[Fetterman] owns shares of a telecommunications company that has millions of dollars in business contracts with his state government.

Fetterman this month endorsed lawmakers’ calls to prohibit members of Congress from trading stocks. “Congress needs to ban members, their spouses, and their senior staffers from holding individual stocks,” he said. “Lawmakers should not be making profits off the same companies they’re supposed to be regulating.”

Oops. Looks like that one came back to bite him.

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “John Fetterman should check himself before smugly establishing a purity test for others that he can’t pass on his own. Pennsylvanians don’t need a hypocrite as their leader, let alone a socialist one.”
