Heidi Heitkamp’s vote to oppose President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee cements her position as one of Chuck Schumer’s most loyal lieutenants and shatters Heitkamp’s phony brand of ‘bipartisanship’ she’s been touting on the campaign trail.
By siding with Schumer, Heitkamp willfully ignored the 60% of North Dakotans who wanted her to confirm Judge Kavanaugh. Heitkamp admitted this wasn’t the correct political decision and she was absolutely right. North Dakotans deserve better.
“Heidi Heitkamp’s vote today means its game over for her already failing campaign,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Like she’s done on so many issues, when it mattered most, Heitkamp sold out North Dakota voters to side with Washington liberals. Hopefully, the cushy Democrat consulting gig she lands post-election was worth it.”
