Next time you’re talking to a Trump state Democrat, you might want to ask how they’re holding up and how they plan on handling the inevitable fallout at home as radioactive two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton continues her political comeback tour today in New York. Clinton will be speaking at the Javits Convention Center as part of BookExpo 2017. The Javits Center, you may recall, was the site of Hillary Clinton’s election night party last November, an event she never turned up at.

This is just the latest stop on Hillary’s quest to regain political relevance. Clinton previously made headlines with her delusional interview with Christiane Amanpour where she took responsibility for her November loss, and then promptly assigned blame to literally everyone else on the planet. She followed that up with her unintentionally hilarious profile in New York Magazine where she continued to point fingers, even as she ham-handedly attempted to position herself as a leader of the “resistance.” Finally, yesterday at the Code Conference Hillary terrified Democrat candidates across the country, announcing she was gearing up to “help” in House and Senate races in 2018.

But as Clinton tries to force her way back into the national conversation as a leader of the rudderless Democratic Party, the reality is that in 2018, Democrats will be forced to defend Senate seats in several states where Hillary remains deeply unpopular. Democrat Senators like Joe Manchin, Heidi Heitkamp, Claire McCaskill, Jon Tester and Joe Donnelly stood with Hillary in 2016, endorsing her ill-fated campaign, but will they welcome her in their states to return the favor and campaign for them? If Clinton continues her unending quest for the spotlight, things sure could get awkward!

“Republicans welcome Hillary Clinton back to the political stage with open arms,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “We know the fame-seeking Clinton would love to campaign for each and every vulnerable Democrat Senator up for reelection in 2018, but the better question is will they let her?”
