Washington, D.C. – Inflation is crushing the U.S. economy and the American people are rightfully blaming Joe Biden, imperiling many Democrats in the U.S. Senate. Instead of changing course on plans for massive tax hikes and government spending that will exacerbate inflation and increase the federal deficit by $367 billion, Democrats are doubling down.
Up until recently, vulnerable New Hampshire Senator Maggie Hassan has kept quiet on her party’s reckless tax-and-spend package that just passed the House. But now, she is singing a far different tune.
Following House passage of the bill, she issued a statement in which she touted a number of the package’s key provisions, conveniently leaving out any discussion of the ruinous economic impact it would have. If that wasn’t enough, yesterday, Hassan told a New Hampshire Entrepreneurship Forum that the socialist spending bill would “help lower costs for Granite Staters.”
If anyone was still under the impression that Maggie Hassan was anything close to a moderate, this should dispel that notion.

Arrighi: “Maggie Hassan’s support for a socialist spending spree that would increase our debt and exacerbate inflation is wholly incompatible with anyone calling themselves a moderate. Time and time again, Hassan hides on important issues only to reemerge at the last minute dutifully falling in line with Chuck Schumer and the party’s liberal base. Granite Staters deserve better from their Senator.”
