Details continue to trickle out about Professor Richard Schubart, who was barred from the prestigious boarding school after admitting to two instances of sexual misconduct. Tom Hassan, Maggie Hassan’s husband, was Principal of the school and failed to make both instances public. Despite living on the boarding school campus with her husband at the time, Maggie Hassan claims that while she “sensed something was wrong,” it wasn’t enough to preclude her from accepting campaign donations from Schubart or naming him to her campaign steering committee.

Since the story broke last week, Tom Hassan has apologized for his “inadequate response,” to the situation. A national group, the Association of Boarding Schools, has also issued a public censure of Mr. Hassan.

Maggie Hassan on the other hand continues to deny any knowledge of what was happening, despite it occurring just outside her front door…

Maggie Hassan was spotted attending a fundraiser at the DSCC this morning for the first of several events on her calendar in Washington.

Hassan clearly places a priority on rubbing elbows with wealthy campaign donors and power brokers in Washington over making sure those involved in the Schubart controversy are held accountable.

BOTTOM LINE: Maggie Hassan owes the people of New Hampshire an explanation. Hassan must set the record straight about her own involvement and knowledge.
