WMUR reports this morning that updated numbers from Kelly Ayotte put her ahead of Hassan, with more than $2.1 million raised. In addition, Kelly Ayotte has $6 million cash on hand, more than four times Hassan’s campaign account.
Prior to her announcement, Maggie Hassan was touted by Washington Democrats for her fundraising prowess. Hassan’s baseless grandstanding now provides another marker in the case for her underperformance this quarter.

U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte’s campaign is updating its fourth quarter fundraising estimate and now says it outraised the campaign of Democratic challenger Gov. Maggie Hassan.
Republican Ayotte’s camp earlier this week said it raised more than $2 million between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2015. Also earlier this week, Hassan’s campaign said it raised nearly $2.1 million, calling the amount a record for off-year quarterly fundraising (see related story).
Hassan’s campaign touted that figure, and said it outraised Ayotte, in a fundraising email on Tuesday.
But Ayotte’s campaign now says that after further review of its receipts, it actually raised more than $2.1 million, and more than Hassan, during the fourth quarter. Ayotte’s campaign says that it now has the record for off-year quarterly fundraising.

As WMUR.com reported earlier this week Ayotte’s campaign ended the year with more than $6 million cash on hand. Hassan, who has been a candidate since Oct. 5, had $1.5 million on hand, her campaign said.
