Protestors Highlight Maggie’s Strategy of Losing Democrat Votes and Gaining Nothing
Washington, D.C. – This was not the welcome Maggie Hassan hoped to give President Joe Biden.
When the President traveled to Portsmouth, he was greeted by a wave of protesters who were in town to voice their disapproval of Maggie Hassan’s latest political stunt: Becoming a MAGA border security hawk.
In recent days, MAGA Maggie has been losing support from the Latino community, and now it’s gotten worse.
The protesters, co-organized by State Rep. Maria Perez (D-Milford), had some brutal things to say to Hassan, according to reporting by the NH Journal.
Perez said, “I’m not taking a no from her office anymore. A lot of people in the community have been so disappointed. We’re just asking for time to talk to her and she’s refusing to meet with us. She’s too busy to meet with us, but she’s not too busy to go to the border.”
But she wasn’t done yet, adding, “I’m a Democrat. But with everything going on these days, I’m embarrassed to call myself a Democrat.”
Eva Castillo, executive director of the New Hampshire Alliance for Immigrants and Refugees, said Hassan’s fake border concern was the last straw: “That was the last kick in the butt for the immigrant community, and all of us as Latinos.”
Even New Hampshire Black Lives Matter activists like Clifton West Jr. joined in on the Hassan Hate, tweeting: “support immigrant communities and stop hijacking COVID relief funds to support a Trump policy, Title 42. New Hampshire residents stand in solidarity with migrants’ rights to seek asylum.”
Ouch – with friends like these, who needs enemies!
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Now that New Hampshire liberals know Maggie Hassan will sell them out at the drop of a red MAGA hat, it’s hard to see where Maggie Hassan goes from here. From ‘drill baby, drill’, to ‘build the wall’, if it polls well in the home stretch of her race, she’ll support it. What will she support next? Will liberals ever trust her again? Either way, Hassan’s days in the Senate are quickly coming to an end. ”
