Tennessee’s Phil Bredesen was a proud Hillary Clinton supporter, but with sinking poll numbers in a state President Trump won by 26 points, Bredesen is trying to distance himself from the disgraced former presidential nominee, saying the $33,400 he donated to Clinton was to support his friend Tim Kaine.

Rrrrright…

The truth is Bredesen gave big money to Clinton because he thought she was “gonna be president,” and was more than happy doing his part to try and turn Tennessee blue.

“Tennesseans won’t forget that Phil Bredesen did everything he could to elect someone who called a majority of Tennesseans ‘deplorable,’” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Volunteer State voters know Bredesen’s values are more in line with Hillary’s than theirs and they will reject his out of touch candidacy this November.”
