Heidi Heitkamp’s record of voting against North Dakotans may not play well at home, but it sure is earning her the support of national liberals.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti took to Twitter yesterday to voice his support for Heitkamp’s out of touch policies. In a state President Trump won by 36 points, the support of LA’s extreme liberal Mayor may not be the endorsement Heitkamp was looking for. However, it could explain why Heitkamp raised nearly double the amount of money from Californians than from North Dakotans last quarter.
“Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s support makes it clear Heidi Heitkamp’s values and policies are more in line with LA liberals than ND,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “While Heitkamp travels the coasts fundraising from liberal elites, North Dakotans are suffering from the disastrous policies she’s supported.”
