Well, we can’t say we’re shocked but Bill Nelson appears to be over helping Floridians recover from Hurricane Michael and is back on the campaign trail trying to save his taxpayer-funded job.
Bill Nelson told the Tampa Bay Times, “I’m going to campaign. I’ve spent the last week in the Panhandle in those storm ravaged counties, and have done everything I can do…” This, of course, is coming from the same politician who was building donor lists under the guise of hurricane relief denotations and sending multiple fundraising emails throughout the storm.
But remember, Bill has a been an elected official since the 1970s and currently serves on multiple Senate committee including the Armed Services Committee and is the ranking member on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation.
So it’s hard to believe there is nothing else Senator Nelson could do… if he actually wanted to.
Meanwhile, Governor Scott, Senator Rubio, and FEMA continue working around the clock to aid recovery efforts and help Floridians rebuild.
“Bill Nelson’s number one priority has always been keeping his taxpayer-funded job and apparently not even an historic hurricane can derail that,” said Camille Gallo NRSC Spokesperson. “Floridians are still recovering from the storm, but Bill is over it …and clearly not afraid to admit that he cares more about his own political career.”
