Did John Hickenlooper commit perjury in his ethics testimony last week? That’s the question being raised in a new report outlining how Hickenlooper’s testimony about a lunch with Clinton adviser Vernon Jordan conflicts with previous statements he made about meeting to The Denver Post.
“Hickenlooper is so desperate to ensure voters don’t find out what he is hiding that he ignored a subpoena, sued the bipartisan Commission, and allowed them to find him in contempt all before finally caving to the pressure to testify,” said NRSC spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “We know everything, and his ethics violations and possible perjury are just the beginning of what will be exposed about John Hickenlooper before November.”
Reporters and politicos across the country openly speculated about the possible strategy behind Hickenlooper’s erratic behavior last week. Fear he would be caught lying under oath might just explain it.
Hickenlooper and his primary opponent Andrew Romanoff will be participating in a Colorado Sun and CBS Denver debate tonight at 6pm MT.
