Washington, D.C. – In case you missed it, Mandela Barnes was too busy campaigning to pay his property taxes. He made that claim during a campaign meet-and-greet when he brushed off being delinquent on his property taxes.

Empower Wisconsin said in jest, “it’s a problem common to the average American: You get so busy campaigning for political office you forget to pay your property taxes.”

Then Barnes went on to ask, “who among us?” – as if everyone is excused from paying property taxes when they’re busy. Talk about being out-of-touch!

This isn’t the first time Barnes has brushed off being delinquent on his taxes. In 2019, he stormed out of an interview after being asked about his unpaid property taxes.

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “Mandela Barnes has always been out-of-touch. His far-left agenda calls for significant tax increases, but he can’t find the time to pay them himself. That’s not a luxury most Wisconsinites can afford.”
