Washington, D.C – The midterm elections are approaching, and Democrats seem to be getting more aggressive in their attacks. President Joe Biden has called the MAGA agenda —former President Donald Trump’s plan for America— “semi-fascist,” and on several occasions, has used the term “ultra-MAGA Republicans” to stigmatize Republican voters. Meanwhile, just a week ago, his press secretary claimed that the first time the president used the term “ultra-MAGA” was about Chairman Rick Scott.

Chairman Scott is optimistic: “I think Republicans will get both the House and the Senate. Here’s why: we have great candidates running, the Biden agenda is very unpopular, Biden’s approval ratings are under 40% in pretty much every competitive state in the country, all the Democratic candidates are below 50 in their approval.”
The Chairman also discussed the role Hispanics will play in this election. He knows this community very well and said that without a doubt they play a pivotal role:
“Well, the Hispanic voters are very important to make sure Republicans win. I think Hispanic voters are going to vote Republican. They have supported me and my races in Florida. And the reason is Hispanics are aspirational. They have a faith in God. They want to work. They want their kids to go to education. They want to live in safe places. They want to have a secure border. They want to have a strong military. So as a result, they know the Democrats don’t believe in any of those things, and so they’re going to vote Republican.”

Mientras tanto, hace tan solo una semana, su secretaria de Prensa aseguró que la primera vez que el presidente empleó el término “ultra-MAGA” fue refiriéndose al senador Rick Scott.

El Senador Rick Scott es optimista: “Creo que los republicanos ganarán tanto la Cámara como el Senado. He aquí el porqué, tenemos grandes candidatos presentándose. La agenda de Biden es muy impopular. Los índices de aprobación de Biden están bajo el 40% en casi todos los estados competitivos del país. Todos los candidatos demócratas están por debajo del 50% de aprobación”.
Finalmente, conversamos sobre el rol que jugarán los hispanos en estas elecciones y el Senador Scott, que conoce muy bien a esta comunidad, dice sin dudas que tienen un papel fundamental.
“Los votantes hispanos son muy importantes para que los republicanos ganen. Creo que van a votar por los republicanos, me han apoyado a mí y a mis candidaturas en Florida, y la razón es que los hispanos tienen aspiraciones, tienen fe en Dios, quieren trabajar, quieren que sus hijos tengan educación, quieren vivir en lugares seguros, quieren tener una frontera segura, quieren tener un ejército fuerte. Así que como resultado, saben que los demócratas no creen en ninguna de esas cosas, y por eso van a votar por los republicanos”.
