GOP launches billboard attack against U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin
“The Republican Party of Wisconsin is launching a billboard attack ad Friday in Milwaukee against Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin.
The ad along I-94 is timed to reach visitors to the Wisconsin State Fair. It reads: ‘Tammy Baldwin Defends The Washington Status Quo Over Wisconsin Veterans and Families.’
‘Whether it is her failure to help veterans who were in danger at the Tomah VA, or her repeated obstruction of reforms in Washington, Senator Baldwin is working for the liberal elites and not for the people of Wisconsin,’ GOP spokesman Alec Zimmerman said in a statement.
Republicans accuse Baldwin of failing to act in 2015 on problems at the troubled Tomah VA Medical Center, where veterans were being over prescribed opioids.
Baldwin disciplined top aides for bungling whistle blower complaints about the facility, including sitting on an inspector general’s report.”
