St. Louis Post-Dispatch: A new state audit hits Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander, a Democrat, for doling out numerous raises to his staff that auditors say weren’t properly explained and documented…The statement notes that the issue was raised by state Auditor Nicole Galloway, a Democrat…The audit notes that Kander’s office provided 239 salary hikes to 161 employees, beyond the standard cost-of-living adjustments, between July 2012 and April 2015. It alleges that the office “did not maintain complete documentation to support salary increases provided to many employees.”
Missouri Times: State Auditor Nicole Galloway released an audit Thursday of the Missouri Secretary of State (SOS) Jason Kander’s Office, who was found to have overpayed to the state’s General Revenue Fund. SOS was shown to not have “adequate controls and procedures in place to record electronic payments.”
