Folks in Missouri are noticing Claire McCaskill’s complete lack of accountability as she attempts to explain her Russian lies.
The Kansas City Star Editorial Board chastised McCaskill in a Sunday editorial for her misleading tweet and her failure to “completely own her initial flub.” The editorial details McCaskill’s feeble attempts to excuse her own behavior and closes by saying, “the senator got it wrong. And there’s no excuse for that.”
McCaskill tweeted earlier this year that she had “No call or meeting w/Russian ambassador. Ever.” It was quickly discovered McCaskill herself had tweeted about her past interactions with the Russian ambassador. Additional reports emerged last week detailing further involvement between McCaskill and the Russian ambassador, including donations Claire’s family foundation made to the ambassador’s foundation, and Claire attending a black-tie reception at his residence.
