Washington, D.C.—Today the NRSC announced the hiring of Jesse Hunt to serve as Communications Director.
From Politico Pro:
The National Republican Senatorial Committee has tapped GOP operative Jesse Hunt to serve as its new communications director, the committee told POLITICO.
Hunt was the National Republican Congressional Committee’s national press secretary in the 2018 election cycle. In 2016, Hunt was the communications director for Sen. Richard Burr‘s (R-N.C.) successful reelection campaign.
“We are thrilled to have Jesse joining our senior staff for the 2020 cycle,” NRSC executive director Kevin McLaughlin said in a statement. “He brings a wealth of experience from both campaigns and campaign committees and is well respected by the media. As we look to strengthen our Senate majority, Jesse will play a key role in helping Republicans refine their message and tell their story to voters around the country.”
Hunt joins a new NRSC senior staff under Chairman Todd Young that includes McLaughlin, senior adviser for communications and digital Matt Whitlock and political director Betsy Ankney.
