With few surrogates willing to be seen within several yards of the radioactive disgraced Senator Bob Menendez, he’s left with few choices to help raise money for his floundering campaign. So it’s a natural fit that he’d bring in another politician who was the target of an investigation by Obama’s Justice Department, Hillary Clinton.
Politico reports that Hillary will be coming to Jersey City for a fundraiser benefitting Menendez next month, just a couple weeks before the election. While they’re together, perhaps the two can compare notes on how best to beat a federal investigation. The shamelessly corrupt Menendez could sure use the advice. After all, he only narrowly avoided a lengthy prison term for bribery thanks to a hung jury.
“Law enforcement should be on high alert as two of the most corrupt politicians in America get together with a roomful of big money donors,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “It’s clear disgraced Senator Bob Menendez can’t be trusted to not accept bribes from his wealthy benefactors, so putting him in a room of Hillary’s shady friends is like letting a wolf into the hen house.”
