Does Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth’s ineffectiveness entail a refusal to read these alarming headlines and corresponding reports?
While it is a noteworthy occasion when Congresswoman Duckworth finally decides to do anything in Washington, her call for 200,000 refugees – 20 times more than President Obama, is a dangerous attempt at shaking her ineffectiveness rating.
Perhaps the only thing worse than when Tammy Duckworth doesn’t do anything in Washington is when she tries to.
Thankfully, the people of Illinois can depend on Senator Mark Kirk’s strong national security record in the Senate.
Amid the disturbing reports above, Senator Kirk has emerged as the leader in demanding an immediate pause to the Syrian refugee program and a credible plan to prevent ISIS infiltration.
In case you missed it, check out the continued coverage of Senator Kirk’s leadership:
Crain’s Chicago Business, 2/6/16:
While Kirk is calling for a ban, U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth, Hoffman Estates, the apparent frontrunner for the Democratic Senate nomination, has made the wild-eyed claim that the U.S. should admit 100,000 Syrian refugees. A bill to ban Syrian refugees was blocked last month by Senate Democrats.
FOX News‘, "Special Report with Bret Baier," 2/3/16:
Republican Senator Mark Kirk has drafted a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry and Homeland Security chief Jeh Johnson asking for the immediate suspension of the Syrian refugee program until law enforcement agencies can identify those fake passports made by ISIS.
A group of Republican senators wants the Obama administration to stop admitting Syrian refugees, saying terrorists can use the program to sneak into the country. Republican Sens. Mark Kirk (Ill.), Thom Tillis (N.C.), Bill Cassidy (La.), John Barrasso (Wyo.), Roger Wicker (Miss.), Steve Daines (Mont.), James Inhofe (Okla.) and Mike Enzi (Wyo.) sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry and Department of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, suggesting that terrorists could use fake Syrian passports to travel to the United States. "The threat to the United States posed by ISIS-created Syrian passports is now imminent. That danger will continue to grow so long as our enemies are able to perfect these passports and exploit loopholes in refugee programs," they wrote in the letter…
The Washington Free Beacon, 1/8/16:
Sen. Mark Kirk’s (R., Ill.) campaign blasted the federal vetting system for Middle Eastern refugees on Friday after two Iraqi immigrants were hit with terrorism related charges… Duckworth has said she supports allowing up to 200,000 Syrian refugees into the United States. Kirk opposes allowing in new refugees until the screening process is reformed and there is “100 percent assurance” that terrorists are not entering the United States through the program.
A group of Republican senators led by Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) is pushing the Obama administration to put in place a Syrian refugee moratorium over fears that terrorists might use fake passports to enter the United States. In a letter sent on Wednesday to Secretary of State John Kerry and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, the group of seven Republican senators said the administration should “pause” Syrian refugee admissions until they can come up with “a credible plan to detect and identify all fake Syrian passports and to prevent ISIS terrorist infiltration.” “Anything less represents an unacceptable risk to the safety of our country,” reads the letter…
