WASHINGTON, D.C. — Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Dr. Ian Andre Roberts, Superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools, who was hired by Iowa Democrat Senate candidate Jackie Norris.
Fox News is reporting, Roberts is an illegal alien from Guyana and an active ICE fugitive with a criminal record and a deportation order since May 2024. He fled from ICE agents and was found with a loaded gun, a “fixed blade hunting knife”, and $3,000 cash in his car. Roberts entered the U.S. in 1999 and was ordered to leave in May 2024. He also has a weapons arrest from 2020.
In early 2024, Jackie Norris said “the biggest decision made by the School Board this past year” was hiring Dr. Roberts to be Superintendent and he openly bragged about his work with children. Norris even paid Roberts over $300,000 a year, taxpayer dollars that would have been better spent in classrooms.
“As chair of the Des Moines School Board, Iowa Democrat Senate candidate Jackie Norris hired an illegal alien with a rap sheet to be her Superintendent and work with children,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell. “Jackie Norris has put every single Des Moines student and family in danger. Democrats will stop at nothing to protect criminal illegal aliens.”
