Joe Donnelly went on a tweet storm today touting a bill addressing outsourcing, but seems to have forgotten something…
Just last week, the AP revealed that Donnelly has been profiting for years from his family business’s practice of outsourcing manufacturing jobs to Mexico. Instead of trying to make changes to the company where he used to serve as an officer, and where his brother remains CEO, Donnelly’s solution was to lock in his profits and sell his stock (no word on if Donnelly is willing to donate the profits rather than putting them in his own pocket). Instead of tweeting about ending outsourcing, maybe Joe Donnelly should pick up a phone.
“If Joe Donnelly really wants to help Indiana workers and end outsourcing, he should start with his family business,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “While Mexico Joe goes on tweet storms from Washington, his family business continues to profit from shipping Hoosier jobs to Mexico.”
