WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today is the third day of Schumer’s Shutdown and Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) again voted in favor of a clean government funding bill, standing with President Trump to keep Ohio military families paid, veterans’ services open, and law enforcement lives protected. Chuck Schumer’s hand-picked candidate Sherrod Brown (D-OH) would have voted with his former colleagues to block essential government services and demand a radical wishlist that includes $1.5 trillion in new spendingfunding free healthcare for illegal aliens, and cutting $50 billion in funding for rural hospitals provided by the Working Family Tax Cuts. In fact, a Soros family-backed group is openly pushing Senate Democrats to shut down the government and Brown has been a Soros-backed candidate for 20 years.

“While Jon Husted stands with President Trump to ensure our troops are paid and the largest rural healthcare investment in history is secure, Sherrod Brown is hiding and unwilling to take accountability for letting his puppet master Chuck Schumer wreak havoc on Ohio families because they want to give free healthcare to illegal aliens,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia

Sherrod Brown is Chuck Schumer’s hand-picked Senate candidate. Schumer’s Shutdown is:

Democrats are demanding $1.5 trillion in spending increases to end the shutdown and:

  • Cut $50 billion in rural healthcare funding
  • Restore Biden-era free healthcare for illegal aliens
  • Expand taxpayer-funded Medicaid to unemployed, able-bodied individuals without dependents under 14 years old
  • Eliminate Republican-passed fraud protections for taxpayer benefits like Medicaid and SNAP
