Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) voted in favor of a clean government funding bill today, standing with President Trump and Ohio families. Sherrod Brown’s former Senate Democrat colleagues pushed a partisan bill that would have reversed the Working Family Tax Cuts, saddled taxpayers with hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending, eliminated a $50 billion rural hospital fund provided by the Working Family Tax Cuts, increased waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicaid, and forced taxpayers to fund benefits for illegal immigrants.
“Jon Husted is standing with President Trump to ensure hard-working Ohio families receive big wins from the Working Family Tax Cuts like no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, secure borders, and safer communities,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “Meanwhile, Sherrod Brown would have voted for the Schumer shutdown to slash funding for rural hospitals, force American taxpayers to fund illegal immigrants’ government benefits, and reverse the Working Family Tax Cuts. Ohio families know they have a champion in Jon Husted and will reject liberal sell-out Sherrod Brown again in 2026.”
Brown spent decades putting Democrats’ liberal agenda above delivering for Ohio families. Brown:
- Supports tax hikes on Ohio’s middle class, but was late to paying his own.
- Voted against President Trump nearly 75% of the time and said that many of the “Americans that support President Trump” are racist and that “a racist for president… works for them.”
- Defended and echoed the “Defund The Police” movement, saying policing reinforces institutionalized racism and questioned how the government funds police.
- Supported Joe Biden’s mandate to force Ohioans to buy expensive electric or hybrid vehicles.
- Took hundreds of thousands of dollars from Big Pharma and their lobbyists who fuel the opioid epidemic.
- Fueled Joe Biden’s open borders, supports mass amnesty for millions of illegal aliens and supports dangerous sanctuary city policies.
- Supports radical transgender ideology and wants to force women to compete against males in sports
- Requested three quarters of a million dollars in federal earmarks for a group that hosted an MLK Day drag show story hour for children.
- Is a partisan hack who voted with Joe Biden nearly 100% of the time and endorsed the most liberal presidential nominee in U.S. history, Kamala Harris.
- Supports the radical, job-killing Green New Deal and transitioning away from fossil fuels.
