The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released a new digital ad today slamming Jon Ossoff (D-GA) for fighting to give illegal aliens free healthcare over feeding Georgia families. Ossoff has voted 13 times to keep the government shut down, and now over 1.3 million Georgians and over 500,000 kids who rely on SNAP assistance are at risk of going hungry, starting this Halloween weekend. Meanwhile, Ossoff is fundraising off of his shutdown and raking in out-of-state money from far-left states like California.
“Over 500,000 kids in Georgia will go hungry this week because Jon Ossoff is hellbent on giving free healthcare to illegal aliens and opposing President Trump,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “While Georgia kids’ stomachs are empty over the Halloween weekend, Ossoff will continue filling up on California cash and fundraising off of his government shutdown.”

- On October 10, 2025, the Department of Agriculture sent a letter to state agencies advising state processors to “hold their November issuance files and delay transmission to State EBT vendors until further notice.” The letter stated that there were only enough funds to keep the SNAP program going through October 2025.
