Tim Kaine is continuing his move to the far left today, signing on with the most liberal members of his party to a bill that would more than double the federal minimum wage.
The bill, cosponsored by most of Washington’s extreme left, including Massachusetts liberal Elizabeth Warren and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, puts Kaine at odds with his former running mate, failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Clinton rejected a $15 minimum wage, joining with even liberal economists who have cautioned that such an extreme measure could be counterproductive and cost jobs.
“Tim Kaine is pushing a radical liberal agenda that would cost Virginia jobs,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera “By signing on to this extreme proposal, Tim Kaine is proving he is more focused on jockeying for position in the 2020 presidential primary than representing Virginia.”
