When the Democrats’ establishment candidate Katie McGinty announced that she raised "slightly more than $1 million in her first two months" she neglected to disclose that she loaned her campaign $25,000 to put her fundraising total over the hump.
McGinty also failed to note that a significant amount of her contributions came from the Washington establishment-class, leading one to believe that McGinty raked in the ca$h when she boarded a chartered flight to rub elbows with Democrat elites in Martha’s Vineyard and hobnobbed on K Street in Washington, DC.
McGinty’s DC contributors beyond Pennsylvania include:
- Sen. Harry Reid’s Searchlight Leadership Fund: $5,000
- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s PAC Off The Sidelines PAC: $10,000
- Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s A New Direction PAC: $2,500
- Sen. Barbara Boxer’s PAC For A Change: $5,000
- Sen. Jack Reed’s Narragansett Bay PAC: $2,500
- Sen. Brian Schatz’s Hawaii PAC: $1,000
With a hotly contested primary underway for Pennsylvania Democrats, what has Katie McGinty promised for National Democrats to be all-in?
“Katie McGinty’s decision to intentionally mislead Pennsylvanians about the lack of support for her campaign is troubling. This follows McGinty’s decision to abandon her role in the Governor’s office despite the State’s current budget crisis, again proving that she would rather further her own political career than be a true leader. Katie McGinty will do anything to get elected and National Democrats are desperate to help her so she can do their bidding.” – Alleigh Marré, NRSC National Press Secretary
