Angus King waited until the last minute to announce that he would join an unprecedented filibuster of Judge Neil Gorsuch, but he followed through today, joining Washington liberals in an attempt to block an up or down vote for the nominee. King’s obstruction comes even as voters voice their strong support for Gorsuch and opposition to Democrats’ filibuster, proving that King is more concerned with placating liberal special interests than with representing Mainers.

“By joining Chuck Schumer and Washington Democrats in their unprecedented filibuster of Judge Neil Gorsuch, phony independent Angus King proved that he cares only about staying in the good graces of his liberal colleagues,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Angus King likes to pretend he is an independent when he’s back home in Maine, but when he’s in Washington, he’s nothing more than another sure vote for liberal special interests.”
