Bill Clinton’s visit comes just one day after Wisconsin families learned that they will see crazy-high ObamaCare rate increases in 2017:
- Yesterday, The Wisconsin Office Of The Commissioner Of Insurance Announced An Average Rate Increase Of 15.88 Percent For Individual ObamaCare Plans In 2017. “The Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) has completed its review of rates and forms filed by insurers requesting to participate in the federally facilitated exchange. After completion of the reviews, the average rate increase is 15.88 percent for individual Affordable Care Act (ACA)-compliant health insurance plans in Wisconsin. ‘After our review of rates, consumers in Wisconsin will be facing an average 15.88 percent increase, but that is just an average,’ stated Commissioner Ted Nickel. ‘Consumers in some areas may see increases as high as 30.37 percent. While increases for Wisconsinites are lower than many other states, these rate changes and the recent exiting of numerous national carriers make it even more important for individuals to actively explore their health insurance options to ensure appropriate coverage.’” (Wisconsin Office Of The Commissioner Of Insurance, “Open Enrollment: Important Deadlines and Changes OCI Completes Premium Rate Reviews,” Press Release, 10/7/16)

Rate increases as high as 30.37% are a far, expensive cry from the predictions Senator Feingold made back when he concluded he knew better than Wisconsinites.
FEINGOLD FLASHBACK:
- In 2010, Feingold Wrote An Op-Ed Claiming That ObamaCare Would Lower Health Insurance Premiums By 14 To 20 Percent. “What will this do to the cost of my private insurance plan? For Wisconsinites who purchase health care on the individual market (i.e., people who do not get insurance through their employer), experts believe this reform will lower premiums by 14 percent to 20 percent compared to what the same plan would cost without health care insurance reform by 2016.” (Russ Feingold, Op-Ed, “Setting The Record Straight On Reform,” LaCrosse Tribune, 4/4/10)
- VIDEO: In 2010, Feingold Claimed ObamaCare Could Lower Premiums By 14 To 20 Percent, “Now This Is Real Savings.” FEINGOLD: “Experts believe this reform effort will lower premiums in the non-group market by 14 to 20 percent for the same benefits. Premiums savings, Madame President, of $1,540 to $2,200 for a family in Wisconsin. Now this is real savings, Mr. President.” (Sen. Russ Feingold, Remarks On The Senate Floor, Washington, D.C., 3/24/10) (MIN 4:58:45)
Despite failing miserably at predicting the devastating consequences of his deciding vote, Senator Feingold did get one thing right about ObamaCare when he claimed it is by no means as bad as some people thought.
It’s even worse.
