Heidi Heitkamp has a lot of explaining to do.

UPS just announced $12 billion in investments thanks to the GOP tax cuts she voted against including a $5 billion contribution to the company’s three UPS-sponsored pension plans. This represents approximately $13,000 per participant.

Heitkamp has made a big deal about her work on behalf of pensioners, even inviting a former UPS driver to be her guest at the State of the Union address. Yet, when she had a chance to vote for legislation that would put more money back in employees’ pockets she said no. I wonder what excuse she will give to her guest now?

“Heitkamp’s act of saying one and doing another is wearing thin with hardworking North Dakotans,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “If Heitkamp were serious about helping the middle class, she would have voted to cut their taxes instead of standing with Chuck Schumer and Washington Democrats.”
