WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Scott Jennings Show was live from the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) today getting reactions to President Trump’s State of the Union from eight Republican Senators.

Senators who joined Jennings live include: Ashley Moody (R-FL), NRSC Vice Chair Katie Britt (R-AL), Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), Roger Marshall (R-KS), NRSC Vice Chair Bernie Moreno (R-OH), Jon Husted (R-OH), Dan Sullivan (R-AK), and NRSC Vice Chair Pete Ricketts (R-NE).

“President Trump spent last night reinforcing the promises he’s made on the issues top of mind for the American people,” said NRSC Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez. “Senate Republicans will prioritize that same message of historic tax reform, lower costs on essentials like gas and prescription drugs, and a secure border to voters in each of their states ahead of the November elections.”

Senator Ashley Moody on Democrats refusing to stand when asked if they would put American citizens before illegals: “I wish I could tell you I was shocked. It appalls me. I’m devastated by that.”

NRSC Vice Chair Senator Katie Britt: “Everything that he committed to the American people during that campaign, he showed them last night that he had made good on.”

After Democrats refused to stand up for Iryna Zarutska or her grieving mother, Senator Markwayne Mullin slammed Democrat Roy Cooper for agreeing to release Iryna’s killer from prison: “Roy Cooper is complicit in this case. He’s complicit in the crime that’s taking place in Charlotte.”

Senator Roger Marshall highlights how in one year President Trump secured our border, reigned in inflation, and has our economy growing again.

NRSC Vice Chair Bernie Moreno: “He struck the perfect tone of just truly loving America… It also highlighted too, the sadness and despair and just total lack of joy from the Democrats.”

Senator Jon Husted on President Trump making life more affordable with no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security: “If the Democrats had their way, taxes on the average Ohio family would’ve gone up by $3,500.”

Senator Dan Sullivan celebrated President Trump’s reversal of Biden’s war on American energy by ripping up Biden’s anti-energy executive orders: “The contrasts between Biden and Trump on this are night and day.”
