AUGUSTA, ME — Following today’s unanimous ruling from the Maine Ethics Commission that Democrat Sara Gideon’s LPAC broke state law for illegally reimbursing herself for campaign contributions, National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesperson Nathan Brand issued this statement:

“Today’s Maine Ethics Commission ruling that Sara Gideon broke the law is just another example of her illegal and shady activities. Guilty Gideon will stop at nothing – legal or illegal – to give Maine’s voice away to the liberal special interests in Washington.”

On Wednesday, the NRSC launched GuiltyGideon.com to highlight Gideon’s ethics issues, shady donors, and “dark money” backing. Read more about the new site here.

Sara Gideon was not in attendance for today’s hearing in Augusta. However, she did attend high-dollar fundraisers earlier this week in Berkeley, CA and New York City, NY.
