Joe Manchin’s favorite Big Pharma firm, Mylan, announced today that it was laying off 15% of the workforce at its Morgantown plant. But while the company is giving pink slips to its workers, Joe Manchin continues to cash their campaign checks.
Manchin was the beneficiary of at least $51,250 in donations from Mylan executives in the first three months of this year alone, in addition to the $132,450 he had received from the company over the course of his Senate career. Manchin is a favorite of the company, where his daughter continues to serve as CEO and for whom his campaign’s senior advisor is a lobbyist.
