Joe Manchin has come up with yet another strategy for dealing with his imploding shady hotel deal: feign ignorance!
Manchin was asked yesterday about the well-documented issues with the hotels owned by a company he owns with Mylan lobbyist Larry Puccio, and gave an Oscar worthy performance in response. Manchin gave a look of surprise and answered, “That’s a…that’s a new one. I haven’t heard that one before.” Manchin, of course, has heard that one before, and has repeatedly lied to reporters about his hotel investments. Manchin has in turn claimed to not be an owner of AA Property (he is), that AA Property does not own hotels (it does), and that AA Property is part of his blind trust (it isn’t). Folks are starting to wonder why Manchin can’t give a straight answer to a single question about his hotels.
