Washington, D.C. – Gas prices in Arizona hit a new high today, and Arizona drivers only have Mark Kelly to thank. Arizonans today are paying an average of $4.13 per gallon – the highest price ever in Arizona – and $0.31 cents more than they were paying just one week ago.
Instead of working to enhance America’s energy independence, Mark Kelly has joined the radical Left to destroy domestic oil and gas production, including banning diverse energy sources in the U.S. and halting the Keystone XL Pipeline:
- In 2021, Kelly voted three times against legislation to prohibit a ban on fracking (Senate Roll Call Votes: 2/4/21, 2/5/21, 8/10/21)
- In 2021, Kelly voted four times against advancing the Keystone XL Pipeline, killing roughly 11,000 good-paying jobs in the process (Senate Roll Call Votes: 2/4/21, 2/5/21, 3/6/21, 3/6/21)
- Kelly has a 97% lifetime rating from the League Of Conservation Voters, a group leading advocacy of the Green New Deal (National Environmental Scorecard, League Of Conservation Voters)
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “Arizonans need a senator who is proud to support American energy independence instead of a radical, Green New Deal supporter like Mark Kelly. During his short time in the Senate, he’s supported proposals to destroy America’s energy independence, causing prices at the pump to reach an all-time high in Arizona. Voters won’t forget that Mark Kelly’s rubber stamp of far-Left policies is causing today’s gas price pain.”
