WASHINGTON, D.C. — Not only has Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) refused to pull his support for Virginia Democrat Attorney General candidate Jay Jones following reporting of text messages where he called for the death of his political opponent and their children, but he is still actively campaigning and fundraising with him. Warner is scheduled to appear at a Democrat campaign event this week.
“It is nothing short of appalling that fantasizing about the murder of your political opponent and his children does not disqualify someone from receiving Mark Warner’s support. Rather than calling on him to end his campaign for his homicidal rhetoric, Warner is standing in ‘solidarity’ with Jay Jones and working to get him elected as the chief law enforcement officer in Virginia,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.
