Claire McCaskill once again put her party loyalty ahead of Missouri, voting no on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
Every time she has had the opportunity, McCaskill has gotten it wrong when it comes to the Supreme Court. McCaskill eagerly announced her support for both of Barack Obama’s liberal Justices the very day they were nominated. But when the time came to stand up for Missouri values and confirm President Trump’s nominees, McCaskill voted against both Justice Neil Gorsuch and Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Don’t let McCaskill fool you – her votes on the Supreme Court are not about “dark money” or any other issue. McCaskill supported Obama’s nominees because they were nominated by a Democrat and opposed President Trump’s nominees because they were nominated by a Republican.
“Claire McCaskill has proven time and again that Missourians can’t count on her to defend their values, and today’s vote against Judge Brett Kavanaugh is just the latest example,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “McCaskill’s decision reeks of partisanship, and Missourians will see right through her weak excuses and vote her out of office next month.”
