Claire McCaskill is scheduled to continue her town hall tour today, and you can be sure she’s going to try and pass herself off as a moderate to the Missouri voters in attendance. Don’t let her fool you.
McCaskill’s moderate myth is becoming a standard talking point for her. She began her town hall in Cameron yesterday by proclaiming, “I am comfortable claiming moderation and wanting to find compromise.” Really?! She has a funny way of living up to those claims. McCaskill’s record shows that once she leaves her town halls and heads back to her multimillion-dollar condo in Washington, she’s just another vote for Washington liberals. Here’s a quick look at her liberal record:
- McCaskill voted with President Obama 93 percent of the time. (Sen. Claire McCaskill, CQ Vote Studies, Accessed 3/30/17)
- After claiming she wasn’t concerned about being labeled an obstructionist for opposing President Trump’s nominees, McCaskill proceeded to oppose seven of Trump’s cabinet nominees.
- McCaskill has voted with Senate Democrats 83 percent of the time. (Sen. Claire McCaskill, CQ Vote Studies, Accessed 3/30/17)
- McCaskill has voted with Massachusetts liberal Elizabeth Warren 83 percent of the time. (113th Congress – 115th Congress, CQ Vote Comparison Report, CQ website, Accessed 8/14/17)
“Claire McCaskill’s record shows she is nothing but a rubber stamp for Washington liberals,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Missouri voters can see right through her empty rhetoric, and will be holding her accountable for her liberal record.”
