McGinty’s campaign attempted to clean up her mistake on Twitter by claiming that the International Union of Police Association (IUPA) had endorsed her.

But there was only one problem…The IUPA endorsed Pat Toomey in March:

“[Senator Toomey] have always been a strong advocate for our nation’s first responders,” IUPA President Sam Cabaral stated. “While many elected officials drape themselves in the mantle of ‘law and order,’ you have stood out as a steadfast supporter of the men and women who provide for public safety. It is not a campaign slogan for you, but a promise — a promise you have always kept.” (3/24/16)

McGinty’s campaign was then left to try and clarify – AGAIN – that it was the Pennsylvania chapter of the IUPA that endorsed her.

But even despite McGinty’s attempted corrections, there is no record of any endorsement from IUPA. Can Shady Katie McGinty prove the endorsement? Or are we seeing another “first-in-the-family-to-go-to-college” claim?
