WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Thursday, the Senate HELP Committee is set to vote on Joe Biden’s radical nominee to oversee an important government agency. David Weil, a life-long government bureaucrat and Left-wing academic, was nominated to lead the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. This important agency has a $330 million budget and is responsible for enforcing all major labor laws. If confirmed, Weil’s radical Left-wing policies would crush small businesses and hurt middle-class workers.
During his time in the Obama Administration, David Weil put in place frivolous regulations that hurt small businesses. Once the Trump Administration undid Weil’s radical policies, small businesses saw unprecedented growth and prosperity. Now, the Biden Administration wants to revert back to the same policies that caused the slowest economic recovery since WWII.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman Jonathan Turcotte: “As small businesses begin to recover from the pandemic, the last thing they need is a big-government bureaucrat breathing down their neck. David Weil wants to reinstate the same onerous regulations that dragged down the economic recovery. These regulations would crush small businesses across the nation and, in turn, hardworking middle-class Americans. If confirmed, David Weil will surely weaponize the federal government against small businesses. The Senate should reject Biden’s radical, anti-small business nominee.”
