Disgraced Senator Bob Menendez and his campaign lackeys sure have started to talk tough on Big Pharma. But their rhetoric is grossly out of line with Menendez’s record.

Over his career Menendez has accepted nearly $1 million in donations from pharmaceutical companies. That total includes contributions from the very company he is now grandstanding about, Celgene. Pretty convenient that he decided the New Jersey employer was the bad guy after they stopped donating to his campaign. It’s clear that Menendez’s newfound tough guy act on pharma is just the latest desperate move by a corrupt career politician who will do anything to maintain his tenuous grip on power.

“Not only is disgraced Senator Bob Menendez an embarrassment and a crook, he is also a hypocrite,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera.
