After the blowback Democrats received for the Schumer Shutdown, you’d think they’d keep their distance from the scheme’s architect, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. But not Mexico Joe Donnelly!
Mexico Joe will head to Houston tomorrow morning for a big dollar fundraiser with Schumer and other Democrat candidates for Senate. While Mexico Joe clearly needs all the help he can get in his uphill 2018 Senate race, tying himself to Schumer so soon after the Schumer Shutdown will not go over well with folks in Indiana.
“Mexico Joe raising campaign cash with Chuck Schumer will only serve to remind Hoosiers that Washington Democrats shut down the federal government and denied health insurance to 8.9 million children as part of Schumer’s partisan games,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Mexico Joe’s blind loyalty to Schumer shows that he will always put partisanship ahead of doing what’s best for Indiana.”
