After promising to not raise taxes, Janet Mills not only raised taxes on Mainers, but failed to pay her own.
As Governor, Mills increased taxes and fees for Mainers on tobacco, hunting and fishing licenses, concealed carry permits, streaming services, and high-value real estate transactions. All while failing to pay her own property taxes.
“Janet Mills is the classic example of rules for thee but not for me. Mills lied to Mainers and raised their taxes, then didn’t pay her own. Now she wants a promotion. Mainers cannot keep paying the price for Janet Mills’ lies,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.
