Senator Sherrod Brown sure has a lot to say about health care lately…as long as you don’t ask him about the devastating effects Obamacare has had on Ohio.

Senator Brown appeared on CNN’s New Day this morning and received pushback on both his bogus claims about the Senate health care bill and the failings of Obamacare, including spiking premiums and insurers fleeing the markets. Rather than addressing his false statements or issues with Obamacare, Senator Brown personally attacks Secretary Tom Price, and then bizarrely attempts to blame President Trump for the chaos Obamacare has caused in the insurance market.

Just a reminder of what Ohio families are facing because of Senator Brown’s vote for Obamacare:

  • Between 2013 and 2017, individual market premiums in Ohio have increased by an average of 86%.
  • Earlier this month Anthem announced that it would stop selling Obamacare plans in Ohio, leaving 18 counties with no insurer on the marketplace.
  • Anthem’s decision followed last year’s exit of major insurers like Aetna and UnitedHealthcare from Ohio.
  • Ohio’s health care co-op collapsed last year, leaving 20,000 without insurance.

“While Senator Sherrod Brown and his fellow liberals in Washington play partisan political games, families in Ohio are left to fend for themselves as Obamacare collapses,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Instead of attempting to shift blame away from himself for Obamacare’s failings, Senator Brown should work to fix the damage his failed law has done to health care in Ohio.”
