This just keeps getting worse for Bill Nelson. Last night, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI refuted Bill Nelson’s alarming claim that Russia has already penetrated voter registration systems in Florida.

In a letter, the federal authorities wrote, they have “not seen new or ongoing compromises of state or local election infrastructure in Florida.”

This comes after the Florida Secretary of State, Florida County Election Supervisors, and the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Intelligence Committee could offer no evidence to back up Bill Nelson’s claims.

But Bill Nelson has stood by this explosive claim with an avalanche of confusing statements, like bizarrely supporting  a report that states he revealed classified information and then backtracking on that the next day, or just completely refusing to answer questions about the allegations.

Now we just wait for the next puzzling comments from Bill Nelson…

“For two weeks, Bill Nelson’s cryptic claim has caused more and more confusion across the state,” said Camille Gallo NRSC Spokesperson. “With no evidence to back up his claim and officials repeatedly refuting it, Nelson needs to stop the chaos and come clean about his allegation.”
