WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released a new digital ad today calling out Mary Peltola (D-AK) for her silence as Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senate Democrats refuse to fund the Coast Guard and threaten members’ pay despite America’s adversaries lurking off Alaska’s shores. The video includes previous comments from Peltola and Schumer about the importance of the Coast Guard. The video was created in part using artificial intelligence software to visualize comments Schumer had previously made on the Senate floor and includes an AI disclaimer.

“Mary Peltola has refused to stand up to the Democrats funding her campaign once again despite previously saying herself the Coast Guard is ‘critical’ to Alaska. Peltola put Alaska last when Biden shut down ANWR and she’s doing it again now as Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats refuse to fund Alaska Coast Guard families,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia
