A new NRSC poll shows that Bernie Sanders-aligned Zach Wahls is leading against establishment pick, Josh Turek, in the Iowa Democrats’ messy primary by 7 points. Radical Zach Wahls is in lockstep with Democrats’ radical voting base, while Chuck Schumer and Josh Turek can’t seem to keep up.

Republicans are wading in to Iowa Democrats’ Senate primary. In an NRSC internal poll shared exclusively with Score, state Sen. Zach Wahls is leading state Rep. Josh Turek in a head-to-head matchup following Nathan Sage’s exit from the race. Wahls leads Turek 30 percent to 23 percent, while a plurality of voters — 42 percent — remain undecided and 5 percent would back another candidate. In a memo alongside the poll, which also tested favorability, the NRSC said Wahls “is aligned with where the primary voters are moving” (1,923 likely Democratic primary voters, Feb. 16-18, MoE +/- 2.53 percent).
