Today, North Carolina Republicans questioned Chapel Hill-Carrboro School Board President, George Griffin, for openly defying North Carolina’s Parents Bill of Rights law. Roy Cooper vetoed the legislation in 2023, siding with radical transgender activists instead of North Carolina parents.
“North Carolina Democrats are fighting to continue Roy Cooper’s radical transgender agenda. If Cooper had it his way, North Carolina kids wouldn’t be learning the basics in school — they’d be indoctrinated with destructive gender ideology, all while keeping parents in the dark,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.
Cooper’s radical transgender agenda is being carried out by North Carolina Democrats, indoctrinating kids with:
- Sexually explicit books such as “It Isn’t RUDE to be NUDE” and “The Bare Naked Book.”
- Radical ideology that teaches kids how to become trans.
Background:
- Cooper supports biological males competing in women’s sports.
- Cooper wants to allow minors to receive dangerous genital mutilation surgeries.
- Republicans in the state legislature overrode Cooper’s veto of SB49, cementing the Parents Bill of Rights into state law.
- North Carolina’s Parents Bill of Rights requires teachers to notify parents if their child goes by a different name or pronoun, gives parents the right to opt out of radical gender ideology curriculum, lets parents review school textbooks, and bars instruction on gender identity and sexuality in kindergarten through the fourth grade.
